GROWING SPIRITUALLY

You can't have a relationship with someone you don't talk to, right? Time spent in prayer, in studying God's Word, and reflecting is essential to knowing and being known by Christ.

Spiritual Growth Classes

SPIRITUAL GROWTH CLASSES

Spiritual growth classes are led by The Chapel pastoral team as well as some of our best church staff and congregational teachers.  See the classes offered as a pathway to your own personal spiritual growth as you explore new horizons of what it means to walk with Christ.

FOUNDATION CLASSES

[Formerly called Foundations Begin]

Get a foundational understanding of the Christian faith and what The Chapel believes. Learn how to have a personal relationship with God through faith in Christ, why we trust the Bible as God’s Word to us, and what the scriptures say about the Church. Learn the other essential beliefs of The Chapel and its five core values. The Foundation class is required if someone is seeking to apply to become a member of The Chapel.

FORMATIONS CLASSES

[Formerly called Foundations Grow, Serve, and Impact]

The Bible says it clearly:  we are to spiritually grow up (1 Peter 2:2).  In Formations classes you will learn what it takes to develop and mature in your Christian faith.  Discover the role God has designed specifically for you, grow closer to Him through studying His Word and through prayer, and learn how to effectively reach out to others in the name of Christ.

FOCUS CLASSES

Go further in your faith.  Each Focus class is an independent workshop designed to help you explore more fully how to live for Christ.  Be on the look-out for the various themes which will be offered, like:  Biblical studies, outreach, money management, marriage, parenting, leadership, and more.

"Through the [Spiritual Growth Classes] I have really gained a better understanding of Christianity and have tried to take a candid look about myself as a Christian. I realized that I really couldn't call myself a Christian in the past, even though I thought I was, because I didn't have the certainty that all of this was real and it's not just a thing "good" people do. God needs to be the center of my life, and if he's not then I'm not living the way God intended. There is no picking and choosing. I have realized that God wants a personal relationship with me and will be there for me no matter what the future brings.”

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER AT THE CHAPEL?

Stacy Corbin

“Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it.”

1 COR 12:27

Becoming a member of The Chapel is an encouraging and exciting process that starts in our Spiritual Growth Foundation class. Foundation will teach you what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, what scripture says about the church, and what our core beliefs and values are-this class has something for everyone, even if you’ve attended The Chapel for years. During the last class you will have an opportunity to fill out a membership application which will be given to our Elder board for approval.

Our Foundation classes are offered at all campuses throughout the year; check the events page on our website and Facebook regularly or call the office for upcoming dates. 419.627.0208

FAITH IN ACTION

As you journey through life there will be milestones along the way that mark time, but can also mark your spiritual growth. Here are some spiritual growth milestones that we want to celebrate with you:

COMMUNION

We serve communion once a month to remind us of Christ's sacrifice for us and our salvation through faith by grace. We believe communion may be taken by anyone who has chosen to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

BAPTISM

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality. We believe baptism is for those who have come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who wish to publically declare their faith and commitment to following Him.

CHILD DEDICATION

The dedication of a child is a public acknowledgement that a child is a gift from God. Parents or Guardians commit themselves to love, care and provide for that child, as well as to instruct and train the child spiritually.

FIRST SERVE

“First Serve” is how you can check out various ministries at The Chapel to see which ministry is a perfect fit for you—your place to serve. We’ll put you in touch with the leader of the ministry that you’d like to explore, and next you’ll be scheduled for a one-time serve. No strings attached! This is a great way to meet new people and find joy in serving others.

OUTREACH

Whether it’s encouraging someone through prayer, donating canned goods to feed hungry people in our area, or giving financial assistance to fund basic needs for families across the globe, there are so many ways to impact the world for good through the various ministries of The Chapel.

GENEROSITY

We value generosity because it reminds us of God's generosity towards us. When we sacrifice our time, our skills, our resources for others we can be reminded of Christ's sacrifice for us. It's a part of who He is and it's a part of who we aim to be. We do not want anyone to give out of guilt or obligation, but instead out of the overflow of the heart.
